In the past it always bothered me that my art style only looked good when in cel-shading coloring, so for the longest time I forced myself to color in softer styles. I made a good handful of nice pieces but in the end I always felt I had to try too hard to make it look good (and the results sometimes showed that).

Sometimes, you really just need to stop trying to make art into something it's not, and just present it the way it will look best. It may or may not be an excuse for not having the best technical skills when it comes to more natural shading, but with the last few cel-shaded pieces I've made, I no longer feel ashamed about it.
